Roses Creative Awards

We’re proud and humbled to be nominated for a Roses award for our work on the The Greater Game Exhibition at the National Football Museum.

The exhibition’s subject matter is a mix of personal stories and artifacts that required a careful creative approach to reflect celebration but also great tragedy. We spent a lot of time researching hand type around that era and in particular the Imperial War Museum’s poster archive. This research led us to an incredible set of recruitment posters which formed the basis of our creative approach. We then painstakingly hand drew various letterforms from these posters to create new sets of digitised type.

With the campaign launching in December – and having to work alongside the usual marketing noise that brings – we wanted to create a strong call to action to reflect the subject matter. Using a mixture of traditional and digital platforms we distributed a three month campaign across the North West and so far the exhibition has enjoyed high visitor numbers.

The exhibition runs until 6th September and the awards take place on 14th May, fingers crossed!
