Salvi’s is an Italian restaurant and deli with multiple sites around Manchester, focusing on authentic Italian cuisine. We were briefed to rebrand Salvi’s, taking their existing script mark and modernising it, creating a more contemporary look and feel while still retaining a link to their traditions.
Salvi’s is a family-run business, named after owner Maurizio’s father and inspired by his mother’s kitchen back home in Naples. We built the brand with family, provenance and warmth in mind, drawing on Italian street signage, mid-century Italian food packaging and keeping the Salvi’s name at the centre of everything we do.
We have produced bespoke illustrations of each Salvi’s site reflecting the individual features of each location, from a 19th century corn exchange to a brand new 60 story skyscraper.
In addition to the restaurant branding, we have also worked with Salvi’s to design the packaging for their own range of Italian ingredients. Building on the brand, we have developed a more expressive illustrative style, typographic approach and uniform colour palette to help the products stand out alongside other products in Salvi’s delis.
The brand can expand for seasonal campaigns, with the Christmas campaign including season-specific products like panettone and hampers and even a branded Christmas market.
