Alphabet Brewing Co

Alphabet Brewing Company is based in a Manchester railway arch, brewing an exciting range of hop-forward and fruit-led session beers plus a number of ever-changing specials.

Instruct produced the brewery’s branding in 2014 alongside local street art legend Hammo, bringing the puns and pop-culture references to life. The simple identity has given us scope to grow the brand over time, allowing different areas of the business to have their own slightly different look and feel but all bringing the fun and energy of the original mark.

The cornerstone of the brand is the work of Manchester-based illustrator Nick Hammo (aka Hammo). His distinctive, bold illustrations are synonymous with the brand and each Alphabet beer release features a custom piece by Hammo to set the tone.

The brewery taproom hosts weekly food fairs as a popular stop along the Manchester beer mile. As such the space needed to find a balance between functionality as a working brewery and an instagrammable backdrop for drinks and streetfood. Hammo’s murals around the space featuring characters from the ABC universe help bring the railway arch to life.
