HOME, Manchester’s new £25 million arts centre officially opens this week with an event-packed weekend curated by Danny Boyle. Designed by Dutch architects Mecanoo, HOME is a partnership between the Cornerhouse Theatre & Library Theatre who merged three years ago to become one of the leading centres of contemporary theatre and cinema in the city.

Through a competitive pitch we won the contract to design HOME’s new digital platform over 15 months ago and during that time we have had the unique opportunity to share the excitement with all of the staff whilst the building and programmes develop. Through in-depth workshops we worked with staff on all levels from front of house to the CEO, this gave us a deep understanding of everyones needs but also for us to develop a robust information architecture.

Staying true to HOME’s values of openness we have built a flexible platform that can grow as fast as their audience, catering for personal tastes through customisation and bringing a streamlined buying process through a few clicks. We want the platform to feel like HOME in every way, to represent the brand, the audiences and the productions.

This is just the start of our journey with HOME, we have many exciting plans in development and looking forward to welcoming old and new audiences to our city.
